Brighton is in my opinion the best place in the UK to discover amazing street art, that it’s worth visiting this dynamic city just for this reason.
The south coast city is such a colourful, vibrant place with stunningly beautiful, uniquely provocative and funny street art everywhere you go.
As someone who has lived in Brighton for several years, I enjoyed discovering new and hidden gem locations for street art throughout the city and know all of the best spots.
So I’ve curated this blog post detailing all the top locations in Brighton to explore and admire some of the most impressive street art in the whole country.
Best Street Art In Brighton
In no particular order, here are what I believe to be the best places to see the most incredible street art in Brighton:
๐ Banksy’s Kissing Coppers (Trafalgar Street)
Easily the most famous and iconic piece of street art in the whole of Brighton is what used to be a Banksy original: the kissing coppers.
Located on the side of the Prince Albert pub near Brighton train station, the entire side of this pub is devoted to art of British and international cultural icons as well as the kissing coppers.
This Banksy first appeared on the side of the Prince Albert pub back in 2004 and became famous worldwide and synonymous with Brighton. The actual original was sold to an American investor several years ago and was replaced by a copy.
However, it’s still worth seeing it and the rest of the pub’s wall, which is a great introduction to Brighton and its awesome street art scene.
๐ Pro Tip: The Prince Albert pub is just a short walk from Brighton train station. To reach it, simply exit the station and head down Trafalgar Street, which you’ll notice goes underneath the main street.
Carry on down Trafalgar Street just a hundred feet or so until you walk under the underpass, and you’ll see the colourful wall of the Prince Albert street on the right hand side.
๐ Trafalgar Lane
If you carry on walking further down Trafalgar Street for a couple of hundred feet then you’ll notice a little alleyway on your right hand side directly after passing the Lord Nelson pub: Trafalgar Lane.
This backstreet is an absolute goldmine for street art graffiti and is in my opinion the best spot in the whole city – it’s a total treasure trove of artistic expression in Brighton.
The quiet alleyway is only a few hundred feet long but the entire area is covered with fantastically original, colourful and creative street art.
You can expect to see here graffiti of the Simpsons characters and marvel characters, as well as random characters and slogans which are really unique and quite inspiring to see.

From the very top of the road to the bottom, you’ll see several murals featuring various types of wild animals with important messages about the environment.

The last time I was there I saw a huge Bart Simpson mural which was also a fitting tribute to the late British rapper MF Doom.

Close to Regent Street is Kensington Street, another central backstreet in the city centre that features some awesome artwork.
Most notably, there is a huge wall mural of the marvel villain Galactus which is certainly worth checking out.

Here you’ll find very unique street art mostly by one of Brighton’s resident graffiti artists – The Postman.
The Postman is actual a duo of street artists who produce very bright pop art inspired artwork of famous musicians and other cultural icons.

This may not seem like the most obvious place to see some street art in Brighton, but the esplanade along the city’s famous place actually features some great pieces of art.
If you walk the length of the esplanade from Brighton to Hove, then you’ll see numerous bins that have been covered with some fantastic art by The Postman.
You’ll see really vibrant art featuring every kind of celebrity you can think of plastered on bin after bin, which makes this scenic coastal walk all the more enjoyable.
