Review – 4 Star Hotel In Agadir

My family and I spent one week over the Christmas holidays (2024) at Agadir Beach Club Hotel. This is a 4 star resort located right on the door step of Agadir’s famous golden sands.

Let’s get into my review of everything the hotel had to offer – I’ll be as honest and upfront as possible with everything that was great and not so great with this accommodation:

✅ First Impressions of the Hotel

I was really impressed with the size and interior decor of the Agadir Beach Club Hotel upon arrival. The place is absolutely huge and can accommodate up to 500 guests in total.

The main reception lobby is a large circular area with several seating arrangements and huge pillars. Once checked in, a hotel porter promptly showed my family of 7 to our respective rooms.

Minor complaint: Despite being on the same floor, our room numbers were quite different – one family group were staying in room 5209 while I was staying in room 3931, which was a bit confusing!

The hotel is so large that gathering your bearings the first day or two is a challenge. The numerous corridors and floors felt like walking through a maze at times and takes a bit of time to get used to.

✅ Location

The location of our 4 star hotel was absolutely fantastic. We just had a very short walk outside of the back of the hotel, across the main promenade and the beach was within touching distance within literally a minute of walking.

Agadir beach itself is totally stunning and stretches for up to 9 kilometres in total. It’s also a very wide beach and each hotel has a private roped area with plenty of sunbeds available for their guests.

👉 Pro Tip: be prepared to have several encounters with various locals and immigrants attempting to sell various items, including everything from jewellery and ornaments to counterfeit goods and more.

This can be a bit of a nuisance at times as the sellers can be quite persistent. Fortunately each private hotel section on the beach is roped off, meaning the sellers can’t approach you directly where the sunbeds are allocated.

✅ Room

I was allocated a double room which I had all to myself and overall it was lovely. The room came with various amenities and a small balcony which overlooked the swimming pool area of the hotel.

There are a lot of different room options available at Agadir Beach Club Hotel, including: ambassador suites, single rooms, triple rooms and rooms that have sea views.

Minor complaint: The only issue I had about my room was figuring out the various light switches and which one turned on/off the electricity. This was quite confusing at times (especially at the end of each night!).

My Father also had an issue opening his safe to store his goods and had to get a hotel worker to unlock it. But overall these were minor issues and I really liked the decor and spaciousness of my room.

✅ Food/Restaurants

Overall I enjoyed the food that the hotel provided and there are certainly a lot of options to choose from at Agadir Beach Club Hotel. There are 6 restaurants available at the hotel in total.

Here’s a breakdown of the various food options and restaurants:

  • L’International – this is the main buffet dining room and is a huge room which serves all inclusive breakfast and evening meal options. My family ate here every breakfast and most evenings and there’s a wide variety of options available.
  • Outdoor lunch buffet area – this is a really nice spot for lunch close to the swimming pool area. Again, there’s a wide variety of choice for lunch, including pizza, pasta, salad and tagine options too.
  • Le Roma – an Italian restaurant that my family visited on Christmas day, and was probably the best meal we had during our stay. Please note that most food options on the menu you have to pay for, same with the other restaurants listed below.
  • Le Marrakech – a Moroccan restaurant that we didn’t visit as the menu seemed similar to the tagine options available at the buffet restaurants.
  • L’Espadon – a restaurant specialising in seafood dishes.
  • Snack L’Oasis – this is a nice little snack bar selling burgers, sandwiches, pizzas etc and also shows Premiere League football matches.

As I say, overall I thought the quality of the food was very good but I like a lot of international food. My parents weren’t overly keen on Moroccan food and some food options were a little bit outside of their comfort zone.

Minor complaint: The only problem with the food I had was during our evening meal on Christmas day at L’International. There was a set menu for this special day which was unfortunately lacking a little bit in vegetarian options.

But this was an exception. Every other night I ate well and enjoyed good vegetarian food including lentil and chickpea tagines, eggplant moussaka, salads etc. And the dessert section is to die for!

Entertainment

There are two options when it comes to evening entertainment at Agadir Beach Club Hotel: a piano bar and a cocktail bar. My family chose the cocktail bar every evening which features live singers/bands from 8pm until 12am.

The entertainers throughout our week-long stay were all of a good quality; playing a mix of popular new and old songs as well as Moroccan music and even a belly dancer!

Big complaint: I really didn’t appreciate the hotel reps insisting family members to get up on the dancefloor and dance every evening.

Also the waiters were absolutely diabolical with taking orders to be honest. One night we were waiting over 30 minutes for any waiter to take our drinks order which upset my parents somewhat.

On several occasions the waiters would mix up our orders; bringing a vodka and orange when we ordered a gin and tonic, or bringing 2 beers when we never ordered beers!

    ✅ Swimming Pool

The swimming pool at Agadir Beach Club is fantastic and a great place to chill and soak up the sun with family members throughout each day.

It’s a really large sized swimming pool with separate shallow and deep end areas. There are no water slides however but apart from that it is excellent.

There is also a small shop not too far away from the pool area that sells the likes of bottled water and soft drinks, ice cream, crisps, magazines, clothes, sun tan lotion, souvenirs and more.

    ✅ Service

As mentioned, the waiter service we experienced at the cocktail bar every evening was pretty poor.

But, other than that the waiters at each restaurant we visited were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. The same goes for the staff at reception as well.

    ✅ Activities

There are a lot of activities at Agadir Beach Club Hotel to keep you busy during each day. There are sports activities including 3 tennis courts, table tennis, a pool table and darts.

    ✅ Spa and Fitness Centre

There is also a spa and fitness centre at this 4 star hotel which myself and my family never visited unfortunately. But here’s what you can expect at the spa:

    • Massage
    • Hammam
    • Sauna
    • Jacuzzi baths
    • Water jets
    • Hairdresser

    ✅ Amenities

Agadir Beach Club Hotel has all the typical amenities that you would come to expect from a 4 star hotel.

My room had a TV with several channels available and a mini fridge. There is also an airport shuttle option available via the hotel as well as free parking.

Big complaint: the free wifi at this hotel was very dodgy and unreliable throughout my week long stay. Sometimes it would work in my room or by the poolside area, sometimes I would go a day without any wifi whatsoever.

If you’re craving a good wi-fi connection during your stay at this hotel, then my family discovered that the connection is best at the seating area in the main reception area.

    ✅ Price

Depending on what type of room you choose, you can expect to pay anywhere from £99 to up to £400 per night at Agadir Beach Club hotel.

Do I think that’s good value for money?

I think so, when you take into consideration the excellent location, the food options available and the mostly good service. It’s certainly not cheap, but these are average prices for a typical 4 star hotel.

    ✅ Verdict

I would have to honestly say that Agadir Beach Club is an exceptional place to stay for you and your family in this most beautiful part of Morocco.

I loved the interior decor of the hotel and the sheer size of the place is impressive (if somewhat confusing logistically).

Yes, I had some minor gripes here and there such as the dodgy wi-fi and the laughable service at the cocktail bar. But overall this is a very decent hotel with friendly staff at an outstanding location and with excellent food options.

4 Star Hotel In Agadir Review FAQs

If you have any lingering questions about staying in a 4 star hotel in Agadir, then let me answer them here:

    What’s the difference between a 4 star and a 5 star hotel?

The difference between a 4 star and a 5 star hotel is mostly the amenities available and the level of service provided.

A 5 star hotel offers a luxury stay (therefore more expensive). You can expect personalised attention from staff who are there to pamper you and cater for your every need.

How long is the ride from Agadir airport to the beachfront?

The distance from Agadir airport to the beachfront is roughly 25 kilometres, so a car ride should take around 30-40 minutes.

However, it’s likely you’ll be catching a coach from the airport with your tour operator, and this ride can take longer.

My coach ride took closer to an hour as we had to wait for other passengers to board the coach. And there were several stops at other hotels along the way before we reached our destination.

    Is Agadir safe for tourists?

Yes, I felt completely safe during my 1 week in Agadir and didn’t experience any safety or crime issues whatsoever.

As mentioned above, there are locals and immigrants on the promenade and beachfront area trying to sell you goods constantly. I spoke briefly to a few of these people and they were friendly enough.

My hotel had a security guard outside the entrance of the hotel to the beach. I also noticed police patrolling the promenade area on more than one occasion.

Of course, your safety should be your paramount concern and petty crime occurs everywhere you travel to, so always stay vigilant.

Conclusion: Review Of 4 Star Hotel In Agadir

So that concludes my review of Agadir Beach Club; a 4 star all inclusive hotel based very close to Agadir beach. Agadir is a beautiful place that is worth visiting and has such a great choice of hotels to stay at too.

Despite a few issues with the hotel such as the not so great wi-fi, this was a really good quality hotel that I would definitely recommend for you and your family when visiting Morocco.

I hope this review has given you a greater insight into what to expect from a 4 star hotel in Agadir, and that you can now book your stay and experience a fantastic holiday for you and your family.
